Hello 2020, I'm back!

So, its 2020… wow! It sounds odd saying. We are officially living in the future. Weren’t we supposed to have flying cars or something like that? Also, how are we already in March? Is time moving faster, or am I just getting old? Anyway, my first blog post is long overdue… well, it’s not really my first, because some of you may remember that I had a beauty blog several years back! I loved blogging! I was fortunate to have some great experiences from blogging and made some great internet-friends as a result. Then life happened, and I found myself unexpectedly abandoning ship. Many of my friends, family and now longtime internet-friends have asked, Are you still blogging? Why’d you stop blogging? You should start blogging again! And honestly, I missed blogging…

So, what have you been up to? Well, a lot! I've done some traveling. I finally made it across the pond to Europe. Visiting my cousin in Germany was so fun! Let me know if you'd like to hear about that in a separate post. I've had a few great summers, birthday and events with my girlfriends! And made a big purchase...

Last we talked, I was living in Virginia. After spending 7 years in Northern Virginia, I moved back to my hometown in Maryland, which is a short drive across the bridge. But small-town co-op living just wasn’t for me, even if it were only 10 minutes outside of the Nation’s Capital. It was at that point I realized, my life was back across the bridge and it was time to pack my bags again. And that's when I became the proud homeowner of a two-story condo in Northern Virginia! Little by little, over the last 3 years, I’ve been making it a home. Here's one of my favorite pics of the living room.

Shortly after purchasing my condo, I left my career of 5.5 years at MAC, and joined the rest of the population in the Washington, D.C. metro-area; I started a new career in the federal contracting world. And shortly after that I was promoted to corporate, which I love! This allows me to focus on my freelance endeavors on the weekends, which includes doing makeup, creating graphics and now blogging again. I've also met an amazing guy, that I've been dating for about a year-and-a-half. And I’m so excited to share my life with him! Say hello to Ben!

Fast forward to 2019, I started playing around with the idea of creating a new brand for myself. It took awhile to get my feet off the ground because I needed a design that would represent me and my freelance businesses simultaneously. I wanted to design a concept that represented me and all my endeavors without limitations. After all, I am my brand. I finally nailed down a design in Fall 2019 and launched my new website, brittanyyvonne.com!, which is a continuous work in progress, kinda like me! And now, it’s time to get back to blogging!

So, Brittany, what are you going to blog about? Now in my thirties, I’ve realized I have so many interests, and I don’t want to limit myself to just makeup and beauty. My plan is to use this blog as my little home on the internet to share all my interests with you-- makeup and beauty, fashion, food, travel, home décor, DIY’s and everything in-between. Ya know, life! So, let’s call it a lifestyle blog!

Is there anything you would like to see me post about? I’d love to hear! And tell me a little about you! In the meantime, pop over to my Instagram @missbrittanyboo to catch up and keep up with me in-between posts! I’m so excited for our new journey together! Talk soon! xo
